How Clean, Filtered Water Can Help Encourage Weight Loss

There are many different diets out there, and people will offer all sorts of different (and often conflicting) advice about how to lose weight. But one thing that is common in almost any type of weight loss plan is the suggestion to drink more water. This isn’t always easy to do, but it becomes much simpler when you install a filtration system in your home. Today we’re going to talk about the connection between water and weight loss and why having clean, filtered water at home can help you keep a healthy weight!

How is water related to weight loss?

Although some people will tell you differently, most scientists agree that water on its own does not actually cause weight loss. It’s the side effects of drinking a lot of water that can help.

When you become dehydrated, your brain sends a warning signal to your body. This signal often gets misinterpreted by our bodies as a feeling of hunger inside of our stomachs, when in reality it means that we need more water. If you don’t drink a lot of water and you feel hungry throughout the day, try drinking a glass of water before you grab a snack. Often times this can make the hunger pangs go away.

An even more direct side effect that water has on weight loss is that it replaces sugary beverages that you might choose to drink instead. Drinking a lot of soda, fruit drinks and energy drinks is one of the leading causes of weight gain in people. By replacing those beverages with water, you can greatly reduce your body’s sugar and calorie consumption and lose weight as a result.

How can clean, filtered water help with weight loss?

Think for a moment about some of the top reasons why people avoid their tap water at home:

  • It tastes bad
  • It gives off a smell
  • It has a strange appearance
  • It might contain unhealthy contaminants

All of these issues can be eliminated by installing a water filtration system in your home. A residential water filter removes all of the impurities in your tap water that alter its taste, smell and appearance. It will also remove common contaminants that can cause both short- and long-term health effects. With all of these issues out of the way, and with a delicious source of tap water on-hand at all times, it will become much easier to drink more water and choose it instead of the unhealthy alternatives.

Bring your filtered water on the go

Remember that just because you filter your water at home doesn’t mean it has to stay at home. If you leave for work or school for the day, fill up a large reusable bottle or two of home-filtered water before you leave. This will not only encourage you to drink water while you’re away, but it will also save you a lot of money that you’d otherwise spend on unhealthy beverages from a vending machine or convenience store.
